IndieFEST Film Awards honors Iranian ‘Dayan’

The IndieFEST Film Awards Film Festival in the US honors Iranian ‘Dayan’.

The IndieFEST Film Awards Film Festival in the US has presented two prizes to Iranian movie ‘Dayan’.

Directed by Behrouz Nouranipour, the movie won the awards for best film and best director at the 2022 edition of the IndieFEST.

The closing ceremony of the US cinematic event was held on February 11.

‘Dayan’ is a movie depicting the struggles of 4 million refugees fleeing the fear and terror caused by the Daesh terrorist group in the Kurdistan region.

Stuck in the middle of a war and not being able to reunite with their loved ones, these families were forced to make some tough decisions.

This is a story about the day after the war, about the people living in a small village, trying to have a better future.

The flick has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Chennai International Film Festival in India, the annual Tertio Millennio Film Festival in Italy, and the International Film Festival Love is Folly in Bulgaria. It won awards such as Special Mention at the Singapore International Film Festival.

Launched in 2008, the IndieFEST Film Awards is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams, and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve.
